Paths of Loyalty 

Darrell Thorne (Hulquminum name Tusqanum) comes from the Cowichan Tribes of the Coast Salish People, a region now known as Duncan BC on Vancouver Island. He has a love for many arts and practices in sketching, charcoal, acrylics, ink andairbrushing. As well, Darrell plays guitar, writes songs, creates horror stories and looks to further his expressions. His Coast Salish style was inspired by the carvings and art of his uncles from the LaFortune and Horne family.

Growing up drawing cartoons, comic book characters, portraits of popular culture figures and animals, he turned to a First Nations style all his own in 2005. Darrell Thorne looks forward to pushing his borders, expanding his visions, maximizing his imagination and continuing an art that is rooted in a meaningful and powerful tradition.
